This title includes many topics that are relevant to our goal of ‘critical thinking applied to contemporary problems’. In my study of heterodox views of macroeconomics, especially the ideas of Modern Money Theory (MMT), I’ve come to understand the importance of knowing what money is, and what it isn’t, and how it relates to the growing power of the financial world to control public opinion, political perspectives, and the slow crash of national economies, here and around the world. ‘Money matters’ then influence our total culture, and false views of this topic support the decline of democracy, and the corruption of what capitalism can properly accomplish.
